My husband and I enjoyed this class, especially the storytelling. It was an educational moment to appreciate the food & culture. The paella was good and the tapas with the... read more bread was really tasty. I wish there was more. I wasn’t fond of eating out of the same pan with everyone (my own OCD) but understand that’s the culture of doing so. Because of this, my husband and I had our food put on plates but definitely feel like we didn’t get nearly as much from a portion size. It was a nice intimate experience overall.

This experience is very basic for anyone who has a reasonable background in cooking. The tapas (which was basically old bread scraped with garlic and tomato and a single... read more slice of cheese and jamon), sangria (a tiny amount of fruit cut by a group of 5 collaboratively) and the communal paella cooked over a single burner was not enough food to feed our family (2 adults and 3 children). For this price point, I expect to make individual paella dishes for each person, each participant chopping their own vegetables and has their own burner. The broth was premade - no attempt to show us how to make the broth (which has all the flavor) was made. Maybe we would have been happier if we had unlimited wine during the entire class, but even the sangria quantity was limited to one single glass. The knowledge acquired and food/beverage was not worth the 275USD for 2h, which started late. Would not recommend. The nearby town is charming though.

Paella cooked was nice. It’s more of a watch how it’s cooked than be very active yourself. A little out of town, not quite what we were expecting.

A highlight of Barcelona trip! Learn, actively participate in cooking, and eat a declious meal you helped make! - As a guy whose not into cooking, I was initially apprehensive about spending 3 hours of a vacation in a cooking class. Boy o boy was I wrong. Anna was... read more AWESOME, I learned about how she grew up with food specifically with a dish I liked, paella. What was just a dish I ordered at a restaurant to me before became more personal through Anna.
I had some friends who took a different cooking class from someone else the day before, they reported it was a very passive experience as they sat and watched the instructor do most of the cooking. This is definitely NOT the case with Anna's class. You will don a cooking apron and actively participate in the cooking process. Yes you will be handling knives so don't cut yourself as my friend did! After the cooking process is done, you will sit down and enjoy the creation you just made. Talking with Anna over the meal was like getting to know a new friend that is a local, we learned so much more about Barcelona, she was also interested in us and our own backgrounds as well.
I'd highly recommend booking a cooking class with Anna, if you're a small group and are flexible I'd ask if she has any open spots if you want a more intimate experience as our cooking class with our group of 4 was.

great adventure! - great place with a nice atmosphere. Anna told us about traditions and Catalan food. It's a great idea when you want to experience sth more than tourism.
